10 Things I Hope to Teach My Son

  1. Everyone deserves to hear “please,” “thank you,” and “I’m sorry.”
  2. Life is full of possible adventures… and he should go on every one he can.
  3. Sometimes it’s fun to eat dessert first.
  4. It’s always better to be honest.
  5. Block towers are built for the purpose of knocking down.
  6. Bravery is not the absence of fear.
  7. It’s okay to be silly. At any age.
  8. Love usually solves a lot of problems.
  9. God will never be the one to walk away from him.
  10. His mother loves him even when he’s too cool to be seen with her.

  1. I loved your list! I hope you get to teach all of these to your son. I just quoted rule number 5 to the 3 and 5 year old boys I was babysitting yesterday during a funeral!! They loved it and immediately smashed the wonderful tower and castle they had built!! Nana J was the one who was silly (It’s a good thing there is no age restriction for this rule!)
